Excellence Gold Will Always Bring You Before Great Men.

In whatever you do, do it with excellence- is one adage that I adore. Excellence is the quality of being outstanding or extremely good. It’s a human intrinsic inclination to see excellence. Excellence is always first-prized and honored globally.

Whether it is garbage collection or being chief party at a leading corporate, we should strive for excellence in character and in skill.

I mean, haven’t you heard that: A man’s gift makes room for him, and brings him before great men- Proverbs 18:16? Many seek a ruler’s favor, and everyone is a friend of one who gives gifts -Proverbs 19:6?

Yes. Kings, Queens and of Greatness will drool over your excellence gold. True story.

Striving for excellence should be a part of all we do because God, our creator is excellent in everything He does. All of us will be answerable for how we spend our time and resources. The Bible constantly calls us to excellence. Being excellent at what we do will point back to the one who gave us the ability to do our work.

Does that mean there will be no distractions? No. Never. Many things get in the way of human excellence, including carelessness, opposition and sloth. God’s cure is to always remind us that He is our ultimate judge.

In other words, find your gifts and use them with excellence like these 8 men of valor:

  1. Jubilant Joseph: Sold to slavery. Unjustly imprisoned. Suffered. Rose to power in a nation that had once enslaved him. Thrived.
  2. Meek Moses: Highly educated and trained leader. Most humble/meekest man on earth. Patient. Thrived.
  3. Doughty Dauntless David: A visionary, creative and a doughty mighty warrior. Suffered under Saul. A supreme leader and the greatest king that Israel ever had. Great governance and an impressive cabinet. God referred to David as a Man after his Heart. Thrived.
  4. Daniel The Docile: Lived in captivity in Babylon. Obedient to the point of losing his life. Refused to bow to the king and ended up in the lion’s den. Great health compared to those who gobbled on fatty juicy defiled meats. Thrived.
  5. Pertinacious Paul: Thoroughly subservient to the will of God. Stubbornly tenacious and committed to his meaningful mission. Perversely persisted in the face of opposition. Limitless horizons in his mission. A great missionary who suffered at the hands of sinful men. Thrived.
  6. Never Give Up Nehemiah: Resilient, relentless and was good at keeping the eye on the ball. A great leader who despite facing all sorts of obstacles, kept going. Thrived.
  7. Preacher Peter: A rock in his faith. A great evangelist. Thrived.
  8. Excellent Like Elijah: A man who loved God wholeheartedly. Gutsy. Had both a tough mind and a tender heart. Thrived. https://thelovetablet.com/2022/06/21/7-mighty-leaders-of-valor-from-the-bible/

Here are Principles To Swimming in Excellence

  1. Guard and protect your Vision and potential.
  2. Fight for your dreams, plans and ideas-they are targets: Once you show greatness, you face resistance-keep going.
  3. Beware of the enemies of your potential: Fear, procrastination, past failures, the opinions of others, past success, a wrong environment, comparison and opposition. Seek God’s power: He protects.

In a nutshell, Christians Should be Excellent in Every Sphere.

Imagine with me a world where every Christian took seriously the call to excellence? How they would unapologetically thrive?

“The idea of being described as a mediocre ‘master of none’ should make us as Christians sick to our stomachs. Why? Because mediocre work fails to accomplish the essence of the Christian life: to serve others and to glorify God.“ Jordan Raynor, Master of One

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving” Colossians 3: 23-24.

“We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.” Romans 12:6-8

Just as the body is dead without breath, so also faith is dead without good works. (James 2:26)

But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. 1 Peter 2:9

As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace. 1 Peter 4:10

For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable. Romans 11:29

Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.” Luke 6:38

As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace: whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen. 1 Peter 4:10-11

Also that everyone should eat and drink and take pleasure in all his toil—this is God's gift to man. Ecclesiastes 3:13

Everyone also to whom God has given wealth and possessions and power to enjoy them, and to accept his lot and rejoice in his toil—this is the gift of God. Ecclesiastes 5:19
